Honesty Electrical's timekeeping
and clocking in/out policy
- Policy purpose
- This policy establishes guidelines for accurate timekeeping at Honesty Electrical to ensure employees are compensated correctly for all hours worked. All hourly, non-exempt employees must accurately record their time to comply with company policy and federal and state wage and hour laws.
- Scope
- This policy applies to all hourly, non-exempt full-time, part-time, and temporary employees at Honesty Electrical. Exempt (salaried) employees are not typically required to track daily hours, but must record time off (sick leave, vacation, etc.) in the designated system.
- Timekeeping system
- Honesty Electrical uses Connecteam mobile app to track employee work hours. **on your app you must allow tracking at all times not just when using the app.**
- Clocking in and out procedures
- Employees are responsible for accurately recording their own time. No employee may clock in or out for another employee.
- Start of shift: Employees must clock in at the beginning of their scheduled shift and when they begin performing work duties.
- Meal breaks: Employees are required to clock out for all unpaid meal breaks of 1hr and clock back in when their meal break concludes. During an unpaid meal break, employees must be fully relieved of all work duties.
- Rest breaks: Paid rest breaks of a short duration (typically 20 minutes or less) do not require clocking out. These breaks are considered compensable work time under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
- End of shift: Employees must clock out at the end of their shift, after all work duties are complete.
- Leaving and returning to the workplace: Employees must clock out any time they leave the work site for personal reasons and clock back in upon their return. This does not apply to work-related travel or tasks.
- Handling missed punches and corrections
- In the event that an employee forgets to clock in or out, they must take the following steps:
- Notify their Admin via the app as soon as possible.
- Follow the procedure for correcting time records using the App
